Richmond-Vanderbilt Line

The Richmond-Vanderbilt line was coming in at -2 in favor of Vanderbilt late Tuesday at SBG Global.  70 percent of those betting the spread were backing Vanderbilt.  The total on this game was 135 with nearly 85 percent of the betting action going towards the OVER.

In non-conference games, Vanderbilt is an impressive 8-2 Against The Spread over the past season.  Richmond is 26-7 ATS over the last three seasons as an underdog.

Elsewhere, the Morehead State-Louisville line had the Cardinals at -9.5 and the action was extremely lopsided with nearly 90 percent of those betting the spread backing the favorite.  95 percent of the money line action was on Louisville to win outright (good to know when filling out those brackets).  More than $50 is required to win $10 (the initial $50 bet refunded should Louisville win outright).

The Wofford-BYU line was coming in at Cougars -8.  This line would be in double digits if not for the fact that a key BYU player is out, a result of violating NCAA policy.  That makes considering one important trend against BYU all the more enticing.  They are just 4-13 Against The Spread in all Tournament games over the past three years.  OUCH!

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
