The Saint Mary’s Gaels have been an excellent team to bet this season with 15 pointspread covers. The Gaels are averaging 70 points per game this season and allowing 63 per contest. They have been outstanding on the road this season against the spread going 6-1. They have gone under the total in five of their seven road games. The Gaels won at home last month against the Cougars by a score of 82-77. A win on Thursday would sweep the season series and pretty much wrap up second place in the WCC for the Gaels.
Must-Win Game for the BYU Cougars
There is little doubt that the BYU Cougars have to win this game to have any chance of getting an at large NCAA Tourney bid. It could be that only two WCC teams make the NCAA Tournament but if the Cougars win this game then perhaps three would be in the mix. The Cougars have been terrible at home this season against the spread, going 2-10. They score plenty of points as they average 85 points per game, tops in the nation, but they are awful on defense as they allow over 73 per game, one of the worst marks in the country. They have gone over in 13 of their 19 games with totals posted.
