Conference tournaments are already underway and out in the West Coast Conference (WCC), BYU hopes to not fall flat on their face against San Diego in the quarter finals.

Belmont line and total: BYU -13.5 and 146

BYU dominated the previous two meetings with San Diego this year as they won by 36 at home and 19 on the road. This game is played Las Vegas so the neutral floor will negate any sort of home court advantage any team could possibly have. BYU will likely have a larger crowd out at the game and they will need it with the struggles they have had recently. They have gone 1-3 ATS in their last four games and because of that this is the lowest spread they have had to cover all year against San Diego.

Given the nature of conference tournaments (multiple games in multiple days), the Cougars could be simply looking past San Diego, wanting to get the win and move on to the semi-finals against Gonzaga. They have had some good battles with Gonzaga this year and they would love to get some revenge for losing to the Bulldogs last week.

However, they showed in the earlier meetings with San Diego that they don’t have to be at their best to administer a beatdown, something that will likely occur again tonight. San Diego is 7-17 ATS when coming off a SU win and that includes a 0-4 ATS mark after winning by 20 or more points. They are 0-4 ATS in the last four games vs. BYU and have only covered the spread once in their five most recent games on a neutral floor.

BYU has bigger fish to fry at this stage and will put San Diego away early.

Lay the points with BYU.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
