St. Mary’s CA vs. Richmond College Basketball Betting Odds

St. Mary's CA vs. Richmond College Basketball betting odds have seen a shift in favorites whereby St. Mary's opened as the -1 favorite and by Wednesday afternoon, Richmond was the new -2 favorite at Sportsbetting.com (see website here)

Richmond's matchup zone has held up against a number of top-notch offenses this year -- most notably in resume-building, non-league wins over Florida, Missouri, Mississippi State and Old Dominion, Fox Sports reports.

Moreover, Fox points out that Richmond is home to a rising star in the college coaching business in 37-year-old Chris Mooney, who demands that his team shoots the 3-pointer well and defends it well. His charges listen as they make 35.0 percent of their 3-point tries as a team and hold opponents to just .291 shooting from beyond the arc.

Paul Kenyon of The Providence Journal writes:

"The 26 victories this season is a school record and the seventh seed is the highest ever for Richmond. The program has a strong NCAA history. It is the only school ever to win games as a 12, 13, 14 and 15 seed. The Spiders upset Syracuse in 1991 to become the first 15 seed to win a game."

St. Mary's will have its work cut out for them.  But there is a reason why the line is so small on this game. Virtually everyone on this team is a decent 3-point shooter. The Gaels are also one of the best passing teams in the country but they also lack depth so Richmond will look to get them into foul trouble early.

It remains to be seen whether St. Mary's vs. Richmond College Basketball betting odds will stabilize at Richmond -2 or move up/down another half point before game time.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
