The Syracuse Orange were the single most wagered on team heading into the Sweet 16 matchups.  betED.com was offering a line of -6 points.  Syracuse was getting just over 85 percent of the backing vs. Butler.

The gambling public has not had a whole lot of luck thus far in the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament (witness all those upsets).  Last week's most heavily backed team, Notre Dame, lost outright.

Butler is unbeaten in the NCAA tournament as the higher seed. But that has only happened four times and the Bulldogs (30-4) are quite comfortable playing as one of the tournament's lesser-known teams.

The No. 5 seed is the highest for the school in its 10 NCAA tournament appearances, matching the Bulldogs' position in 2007, when they also reached the regional semifinals before losing to eventual champion Florida.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim is trying to get the Orange (30-4) past this round for the first time since they won the national title in 2003.
