Curry and Thompson Struggle

It hasn’t happened very often this season but Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson struggled in Game 2. Curry had 19 points, six assists and five rebounds while Thompson had just 13 points. The Warriors had 20 turnovers and shot just 41.9 percent. "I thought we lost our poise tonight. We were in such a rush," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. The Warriors had not lost at home since late January and the loss to Memphis was just the third this season. Curry won the league MVP award and received that award before Game 2. All of the hoopla may have distracted Curry and the team from the job at hand and they played poorly against Memphis in Game 2.

Conley Leads the Grizzlies

Mike Conley had missed three games as he recovered from surgery to repair broken bones in his face but he came back on Tuesday wearing a mask and he was great in the win over Golden State as he scored 22 points. “My eyesight was pretty good. I didn't have too many times where I felt like my vision was impaired by looking too fast or the mask getting in the way," Conley said. "It does get hot. I had to open it up a few times and let the sweat come down and let the steam out a little bit." Memphis is 4-0 in the playoffs with Conley in the lineup but just 1-2 without him. It will be interesting to see how Conley plays on Saturday in Game 3.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
