Those who are savvy sports bettors always want a site that offers overnight Basketball lines. Bookmaker not only offers overnight lines on hoops, they are usually the first to get them up. Hence, the slogan "Where the Line Originates".
Because Bookmaker also has plenty of ‘sharp’ action, it is not unusual to see this book move the line a whole point or more prior to the witching hour.
Overnight lines can come in especially handy.
Case in point: A Saturday February 22, 2014 game between the Orange Men of Syracuse and Duke Blue Devils.
We knew the 6-point line was a good one but the betting public overwhelmingly loved Syracuse to cover on the road in this situation (75%).
Early overnight sharp action pushed the line to Duke -6 from -5.5. Sure enough the Blue Devils ended up winning by 6 points. Anyone who bet Duke overnight (a lot of sharps) made out big with this play.
Amazingly it was a charge call on Syracuse culminating with two technicals against Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim that helped seal the deal for the sharps and their followers who got in on the overnight action.
Some books offered the line at Duke -6.5 the next day, thus presenting a middling opportunity.
