The Miami Heat will play in Minnesota Monday night.  A team with a 21-30 record Straight Up would not normally be getting this type of attention but this is a Heat team that has suddenly caught fire, winning their last ten games overall and shooting for an 11th as a  +1.5 road dog against a T-Wolves team with a record worse than that of Miami.

What is Going on in Miami?

This 10-game win streak is no small feat by any team, but for one with a losing record, it is the second longest in NBA history.

Matt Moore of CBS Sports writes

The streak is incredible. Winning 10 in a row is one thing, doing so with this roster is another. Erik Spoelstra deserves "Coach of the Year for Most with the Least.

Dion Waiters scored 21 points in their 10th win against the 76ers and is finally hitting his stride.  Otherwise, Moore doesn’t see much of an explanation for this win streak.

Their upcoming schedule for a little while at least should be a cake walk, starting with the Timberwolves.

Heat vs. T-Wolves Head to Head

In the last three years, these two teams have split wins and losses.  The visitor won both of last year’s games.  The home team won both of the previous year’s games.  And the year before, the away team won both games.  A trend?

The UNDER is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Minnesota with a total of 204.5.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
