BetOnline will be taking bets on the FAU vs. KSU game from Florida, and pretty much everywhere else for that matter.  The Owls opened as a +2 underdog.  This is only their second every appearance in the NCAA Men's Tournament and the furthest the Owls have ever advanced.

Florida Atlantic entered the tournament with just three losses on the season.  They were 23-11-1 Against The Spread as of March 24 ahead of their big Elite Eight game against Kansas State.

FAU doesn't want the glass slipper, it wants the March Madness crown.  They would pay $5000 for every $100 bet should that happen, though that price had to be locked in ahead of the Sweet 16 game in which they beat a good Tennessee team 62-55.

“We’re very, very confident in our abilities and those guys in the locker room,” FAU Coach Dusty May said Wednesday. “We’ve never thought of ourselves in that regard (Cinderella) just because of the success of our league and our guys being able to do what they did over a 20-game schedule. But we’ll take it."

Ahead of the Sweet 16, the Owls ranked 32nd in Division I in scoring (78.4 ppg), 18th in 3-point attempts per game (26.4) and top-50 in 3-point percentage (36.7). Six players have shot more than 100 3-pointers this season; Davis, Boyd and Bryan Greenlee all shoot at least 38 percent from the arc.

Johnell Davis (13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds), Alijah Martin (13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds) and Vladislav Goldin (10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds) carry FAU's offense.

The underdog Owls (34-3), in just their second NCAA Tournament in program history, will face third-seeded Kansas State on Saturday at Madison Square Garden for the right to go to the Final Four.  KSU knocked Michigan State out of the tournament.

"It's awesome for our university, our athletic department and our community. We are extremely proud to represent them," Owls coach Dusty May said. "These guys have put a lot of work, elbow grease into building the program. For it to be at this point, it's very rewarding, but we'll focus on all that later after the season."

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
