Where Can I Bet Sports Near Atlanta?
Atlanta has plenty of teams that call the state's biggest city home, but the Braves promise the most rewarding season in 2023 (of course everyone in Georgia is still coming off the high of having their beloved UGA Bulldogs win yet another championship in college football). Online and mobile sports betting is available in Georgia courtesy of BetOnline. They offer a welcome bonus up to $1000 to those 18 and up.
Regulated Sports Betting in Georgia Shot Down Once Again
The state will not be overseeing sports wagering any time soon (translation: they won't be taxing it). Georgia residents can continue betting with those sites licensed in other jurisdictions like BetOnline.
On March 1, lawmakers voted 37-19 against Senate Bill 57, which would have ordered the state lottery to set up sports betting and wagering on horse races, so long as winnings at the track were paid by the track itself or another company instead of by the betting pool. That traditional set-up, which also allows odds to change right up to race time, is known as pari-mutuel betting.
A proposal to let voters decide the question via referendum could still get a vote in the Senate.
High Hopes for the Braves
The Atlanta Braves enter the 2023 season with the fifth shortest odds in Major League Baseball, promising a payout of $1000 for every $100 bet. Not too shabby.
From Athlon Sports:
"It's not just that they're good; they also know their roles and buy into Brian Snitker's system. And look at the experience on that coaching staff — that means a lot, too. They find pitchers that throw strikes and keep coming at you, and when they have to pitch to contact, they'll trust their defense — and rightfully so. Austin Riley is phenomenal at third, and Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies are great up the middle. Ronald Acuña Jr. is the best player in baseball, just dynamic in so many ways. Every skill is off the charts. Max Fried is a legit ace; he'll throw righthanders inside with a good, hard fastball and then back-leg them with that big hook. Ian Anderson likes to live at the top of the zone with the four-seamer and come back with the curveball and changeup; he'll be a star for a long time. And the bullpen is unbelievable — right, left, it doesn't matter. Some of the setup guys might have better stuff than Will Smith, but he's the guy you want at the end of the game*. He's a guy who just wants the ball every day, and he was untouchable in the playoffs."
