The bets are likely to come in fast and furious in and around the city of Cape Girardeau, MO this season.  That's because local favorites Southeast Missouri State have received an automatic bid into the 2023 NCAA Men's Tournament.  Betting is only available via one's mobile devices or laptop as the state does not regulate sports wagering.  18 and up welcome.

Lackluster Performance

Southeast Missouri State managed to get into the 2023 tournament courtesy of a not-so-intimidating 19-16 record.

Sure they've won six of their last eight games, but the Redhawks did endure a stretch of eight consecutive losses mid-season.

Israel Barnes scored 16 of his 19 points after halftime for Southeast Missouri State.  Chris Harris scored 26 points, Phillip Russell added 21 -- including the game's last seven points -- and No. 5 seed Southeast Missouri State beat Tennessee Tech 89-82 in overtime March 4 to win the Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball tournament and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney.

This will be the Redhawks first trip to the Big Dance since 2000.

In case you were wondering, Southest Missouri pays out $50,000 on a $100 bet should they go on to win the NCAA Tournament Championship.
