Blake Snell's next team odds have the San Francisco Giants favored, but not by much. There has been a slight change with the odds after Christmas.
Snell finished last season 2.25 ERA and a WHIP of 1.19. He made 32 starts and is seeking that hefty payday.
With the San Diego Padres slashing payroll, there is a good chance Snell does not return.
And while the LA Dodgers come in as near co-favorites with the Giants at 5/2 odds, reports surfaced this week that the franchise has little interest in Snell.
“The Dodgers are showing interest in seemingly every pitcher but Snell," reported John Hayman of the New York Post.
It's interesting to note that BetOnline does not currently list Seattle among the odds. He is, after all, a Seattle native.
Snell, we are reminded, was a high-profile attendee at both the Seahawks’ Thanksgiving night game against the San Francisco 49ers as well as the Apple Cup two days later at Husky Stadium.
Play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico came right out and said it during the Thanksgiving Day game.
“Blake Snell won his second Cy Young Award a few weeks ago. He did it pitching for the Padres, he’s a free agent now, he wants to pitch for the Mariners,” Tirico said.
