A Highly Anticipated Return

What else is there if you’re Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez? Owner of boxing titles in four weight classes during his career (three of them unified), including the only no-doubt-about-it super middleweight champ. The 34-year-old Mexican has a record through March 2025 of 62-2-2 (39 of the wins by knockout).

Alvarez is as popular and precise as anyone currently in the ring, so no surprise the boxing world has been awaiting news of Canelo’s next fight. The end is near, as in next month.

May 3rd is not only Kentucky Derby Day, but also the day Canelo Alvarez steps into the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia against Cuba’s William Scull, with the undisputed junior middleweight title at stake. Alvarez is the belt-holder in every association except Scull’s crown in the International Boxing Federation.

Canelo’s record and resume have obviously made him an overwhelming favorite, as in 1-40 {-4000) to dispose of Scull, the 11-1 (+1100) underdog. Scull is undefeated at 23-0, nine of the wins by knockout.

Here’s a bit of a primer of Alvarez, Alvarez versus Scull and who’s awaiting down the road…

H3: How Many Losses Does Canelo Alvarez Have?

As was mentioned. Canelo Alvarez owns a career record of 62-2-2, 39 of the wins by knockout. His two losses (unanimous decision each time) were against Floyd Mayweather (2013) and Dmitry Bivol (2022). He has won his last five bouts.

Answering the question of “How old is Canelo?” he is turning 35 this July.

Who Will Canelo Fight in May 2025?

The eyes of the boxing world turn to the desert in May as Canelo Alvarez opposes Cuba’s William Scull in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Canelo fight time is approximately 11 PM ET. That’s 8 PM PT. There are a half-dozen bouts on the card, including…

  • Jamie Muguia -815 vs. Bruno Surace +515 (super middleweight).

  • Martin Bakole -400 vs. Efe Ajabka +300 (heavyweight).

  • Badou Jack -180 vs. Ryan Rozicki +150 (WBC cruiserweight title).

  • Marco Verde odds TBD vs Michel Polina odds TBD (middleweight).

  • Brayan Leon odds TBD vs. Aaron Guerrero TBD (light heavyweight).

Does BetUS Offer Canelo Alvarez's Next Fight Betting Odds?

Boxing news includes a plethora of odds and props on the entire Canelo Alvarez-William Scull fight card. Regarding the main event of the program, Canelo Alvarez next fight odds find him as a miniscule 1-40 (-4000) favorite, with Scull at 11-1 (+1100). Remember, these odds are fluid, so don’t forget to check before making any wagers.

Any Final Thoughts?

Boxing rumors involve Canelo Alvarez and his Terence Crawford fight, a September bout scheduled in Las Vegas. Crawford, at 37, and a left-hander, is 41-0, 31 of the wins via knockout. However, Alvarez needs to dispose of Scull in the desert first.

If you’re into advance wagering, Alvarez is the -215 choice against Crawford, who’s at +175.
