Breeze Airways on Sunday announced new 1x daily service between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) on January 5th.
The flight will be nonstop, departing Tampa at 6:55 pm and arriving in Las Vegas at 8:55 pm.
Like a lot of Vegas flights to the East Coast, heading home will be on the 9:45 pm red eye. You arrive around 5 am.
Breeze Airways will now compete directly with Southwest Airlines, which already offers two nonstop Tampa-Las Vegas flights daily.
Breeze Airways is among the newest to enter the U.S. aviation scene.
It was founded in 2021 by David Neeleman, who also founded JetBlue and Azul (Brazil).
His strategy has always been to identify underserved markets rather than compete head-to-head with the largest airlines, though the Tampa-Vegas route is certainly an exception to that rule as both cities are high demand routes.
And while Tampa isn't often associated with gambling per se, the Florida Gulf Coast city just happens to be home to one of the largest casinos in the U.S.. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa generally ranks among the top 10, and by gaming floor alone it is often considered one of the five largest commercial/tribal casinos outside Las Vegas.
