New Jersey regulated sportsbooks prohibit wagering on in-state schools.  Gamblers in the Garden State will need to rely on either an offshore sportsbook or local bookie to wager on games featuring the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.  To make matters worse, very few of the offshore books allow New Jersey residents.

Rutgers College Basketball 2023-24

The Scarlet Knights have enjoyed success in college basketball dating back to 2020.  Unfortunately the NCAA Men's Tournament that season was cut short due to Covid-19.  Who knows how far that group would have excelled.

New Jersey teams over the past two seasons have stunned the nation with their Cindarella entries (FDU, Princeton, Saint Peter's).

To open the 2023-24 season, Rutgers was starting off fairly strong.  They were listed at 125-1 odds to win the 2024 NCAA Men's College Basketball Championship.

Rutgers Football 2023

It's a new era for Rutgers perhaps as they came into this game 3-0 but Michigan was a whole different animal, reflected in the -24 point line.  Action was fairly balanced at both books.

Michigan would go on to beat Rutgers 31-7 and ultimately ended the regular season undefeated.

Rutgers, for its part, owned a winning record the entire season but simply could not compete with the big boys.

Ultimately, the Scarlet Knights would lose to Maryland in their final regular season.

The good news, despite being on a four-game losing streak, Rutgers will be playing this bowl season, most likely the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 28.

Hopefully in 2024 Rutgers takes things to the next level as the rebuilding process continues.
