Chris Gallant Payout Odds to Win New York-01 Long Island Race as BDSM Past Resurfaces

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (Gambling911.com) - The race for Congress just got a little more restrained as Chris Gallant's political opponents hope to have him on the ropes.

"Make Politics Sexy Again" is the slogan Democratic congressional hopeful is pushing after photos taken of him 15 years ago resurfaced last month.  They show the candidate modeling for San Francisco fetish brand Mr. S Leather.

Gallant is challenging Republican Rep. Nick LaLota in New York's 1st Congressional District.  The Democrat currently promises a payout of $400 for every $100 bet while LaLota is the -520 favorite.

New York's 1st congressional district is located in eastern Long Island, covering the eastern two-thirds of Suffolk County with towns that includeHuntington, Smithtown, Riverhead, Southold, Southampton, East Hampton, and Shelter Island and the communities of The Hamptons, Port Jefferson, Selden, Centereach, Lake Grove, Mattituck, and Jamesport.

Instead of running away from his BDSM past, Gallant has chosen to embrace it.

Gallant says the shoot happened about 15 years ago with his then-partner and was completely consensual ... and he later asked the company to take the photos down.

He says he's not scared of the pictures and doesn't think his sex life should have anything to do with whether he's fit for Congress.

“I mean, all my friends know I’m kinky," he candidly stated.

Gallant's message now is pretty simple ... what he did in the bedroom 15 years ago has nothing to do with what he can do in D.C.

He also joked that the newly resurfaced photos could be his "Kim Kardashian moment," saying he makes "Christian Grey look like amateur hour" and rolling out a "Make Politics Sexy Again" campaign ad.

The Suffolk County Conservative Committee criticized Gallant following the revelations, while local Democratic officials defended him, arguing that the photographs had no bearing on his qualifications for office.

Gallant remains in the National Guard.  He's a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, air traffic controller, volunteer firefighter, and union representative.

The openly gay candidate says he has no idea why the photos are resurfacing now, though he has a hunch.

"Let’s be clear about what this is: a coordinated political hit meant to drive me out of this race," Gallant said last month. "This represents everything that is wrong with our politics today. The establishment clinging to power, mudslinging as a means of skirting accountability at the ballot box."
