OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - One of the largest sweepstakes casinos, Chumba Casino, recently changed its entire site layout (some say, not for the better) while removing popular games such as Connect 4.
While not immediately confirmed, Connect 4 is a recognizable Hasbro board-game brand. An expired or renegotiated intellectual-property agreement can sometimes result in a game's removal.
The game has players choose a color and then take turns dropping colored tokens into a six-row, seven-column vertically suspended grid. The pieces fall straight down, occupying the lowest available space within the column. The objective of the game is to be the first to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line of four of one's own tokens.
Chumba Casino has yet to comment on why it yanked Connect 4.
Chumba parent company VGW has also faced increasing scrutiny, including an $8 million New York settlement announced September 9, 2026. However, there is no evidence connecting that settlement to this particular game.
The company recently updated its website and now features a major visual platform layout and new user interface (UI) redesign.
Recent community posts on Reddit focus more on perceived changes in game volatility, bonus frequency, and payout results rather than actual site navigation or layout shifts.
"Something has changed with the company. I spent $80 not one bonus round and when you do go into a bonus round, it’s for little change," one Reddit wrote.
Another had this to offer: "I dont think I have ever seen it this bad, been playing for years now. It feels different. I work at a casino and know that you can't win all the time, but damn! Definitely need to break a way. It's such a shame, but can't even have fun anymore it just takes everything."
Donna Smith on Trust Pilot writes: "I love playing chumba, but I wish I could win more. I play about every day trying to win. I lose a lot of money playing chumba. Hoping one day I can win quite a bit. Time to hard to be losing money and never winning. Just let me win sometime, that would encourage me to wanna play and tell friends to play."
Customers still comment positively on the perks.
Shelbi Ferris writes:
"I love the quick returns on the cash prizes, and the games are bright and fun. What I wish they would do is after you get so many GC that you could trade in for SC. The random discounts and gifts of the SC is always a bonus though!"
And the redemption process gets mostly positive reviews.
Erik Dryden writes:
"My bank account was already verified so my first redemption request was sent to my account in less than 24hrs , which I was worried that it would take longer cause they said first one takes longer but if you verify your account before you ever play which is a good rule anyways it is fairly quick . I'm happy to report . This is one if not the best sweepstakes casinos around."
Chumba is very responsive to both positive and negative reviews.
Unlike a real money online casino, sweepstakes - or social casinos - is an online platform that allows users to play casino-style games, including slots, bingo, table games, and even live casino games, using virtual currency instead of real money. These types of online casinos rely on additional real money purchases once the free play component is exhausted. In contrast, real money online casinos require a small deposit that can be increased through wins. Free play and cash bonuses are typically offered as well.
