Circa Sports Gets Lambasted for.....Doing the Right Thing?
These are the latest news headlines related to Circa Sports, which offers regulated sports betting in a handful of US states as well as one of the largest picks contests in the world. Circa Sports mobile offerings can be found in the following US states: Nevada, Colorado, and Iowa. The sportsbook is now technically licensed to take bets in Illinois but still must pass regulatory inspections before doing so.
Circa Sports Takes Bills London Line Down to -4 (October 7, 2023)
The Saturday night line for the Jaguars-Bills London game was mostly sitting at Buffalo -5.5, however, Circa Sports was an outlier it seemed as they moved the number from 5 to 4.5.
This was especially interesting being that better than 63% of the action was on Buffalo overnight.
The Bills (3-1) as a whole are mostly unfamiliar with traveling to England and yet designated the “home” team for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. Jacksonville played here the week prior and will not have any jet lag.
Circa Sports Gets Lambasted for.....Doing the Right Thing? (September 15, 2023)
Pro sports bettor Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos has had enough of this week's bellyaching over certain sportsbooks refusing to offer refunds on Aaron Rodgers bets after he lasted a few snaps before going down for the season.
DraftKings was among those quick to do so and some speculate they were simply looking to draw attention away from their insensitive 9-11 parlay promo.
"Dressmakers are applauded for running a marketing scheme while bookmakers are insulted for following the rules," Spanky tweeted in regard to criticism over Circa's refusal to cave.
Michael Wortley tweeted:
"@CircaSports not a good look. Sports betting is just getting huge and you guys are just starting out. If other books are refunding Rodgers futures, you should too. Not worth tripping over dollars to pick up Penny’s. Just gonna cost yourselves long term. Do the right thing."

Jason D. sided with Spanky on this one:
"Cost themselves with who exactly? Any customer or fan of Circa/ @JeffreyBenson12 and crew already support this decision - they are going to lose exactly as much sleep over this as they will customers...zero."
Jeffrey Benson we should note is the highly regarded Director of Operations for Circa Sports.
Circa Sports is known for allowing its customers to bet with high limits, unlike the vast majority of those sites that refunded Rodgers wagers. In fact, the odds are pretty good that, once you receive three refunds from DraftKings, it's probably game over as you'll end up with $12 player prop limits.
Elihu D Feustel tweeted:
"I’d much rather have a book that takes a bet, moves the line, and says “bring it!” than a book that limits me to $38 and babies me on props with injuries."

Circa Sportsbook CEO Challenges DraftKings CEO to Cage Fight (August 22, 2023)
Jeff Benson of Circa Sports poked some fun this week at DraftKings, one of the biggest culprits when it comes to limiting players for just happening to go on a winning streak.
Benson played off the Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg proposed cage fight. He challenged DraftKings founder and CEO Jason Robins to a fight. Circa will offer limits of $10,000 while DraftKings limits are no more than $43.17. The ref is listed as Darren Rovell. This is all a fantasy to be sure, except for the limits part.
