Florida Gators (13-0)

Alijah Martin scored 18 points, Will Richard added 17 and No. 6 Florida remained unbeaten with an 85-45 victory over Stetson on Sunday.

Fellow guard Walter Clayton Jr. chipped in 12 points and seven assists as the Gators (13-0) extended their home winning streak to 15 and ended nonconference play without a blemish.

Coach Todd Golden’s team is one of four unbeatens remaining in Division I, joining top-ranked Tennessee, No. 12 Oklahoma and Drake.

Not to take anything away from these Gators, the schedule to date has been soft and it's about to get a whole lot more difficult.

Head coach Todd Golden  highlighted the positives he saw through the early going of the season.

“We are really unselfish and we are really mature,” Golden said after the win over Stetson. “I think we have a lot of guys that, you know, are playing for each other. Not trying to oversimplify it, but, at the end of the day, when you have guys that are pulling in the same direction it makes things a lot easier.”

Kentucky Wildcats (11-2)

Andrew Carr scored all of his 14 points in the first half, Otega Oweh added 13 and No. 10 Kentucky handled Brown 88-54 Tuesday.

Oweh had 11 points after halftime, including seven in the first five minutes of the second half to put the Wildcats (11-2) up 52-32 with 15:38 remaining. Amari Williams and Koby Brea each added 13 points.

The Wildcats needed the win after a disappointing 85-65 loss to Ohio State on Dec. 21 and a challenging Southeastern Conference schedule ahead of them. Kentucky showed the effects of a 10-day layoff early on, only leading 4-2 at the first media timeout and being outrebounded by 10 in the first half.
