Before You Bet
- Rutgers is 4-1 Against The Spread in their last five games overall.
- One can argue that Michigan is due for a cover as they haven't done so in their last five games overall.
- Ace odds have kept the number at -6.5 despite 65% of the action on Michigan.
- Michigan doesn’t have much of an interior threat, especially if Goldin isn’t healthy. The Wolverine guards aren’t cutting it, and Tre Donaldson has looked uneasy in ball screens (Action Network)
- Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell knows his defense. He and the Scarlet Knights will be well prepared, especially because Michigan is such an easy scout right now (Action Network)
- Top cappers are all over the Wolverines here.
- Rutgers is just 11th in the conference in turnover margin, and even if Harper can go, they'll have issues protecting the basketball against the Wolverines. Additionally, the Wolverines' 2nd ranked field goal shooting will have a field day against a Rutgers team that is just 15th in the Big Ten in field goal defense and 17th in points allowed. (Winners and Whiners)
We like Michigan here -6.5 based on some of the stats, but also because they are really due a cover.
The one thing we don't like is that the recreational books were keeping this one on the -6.5 Wolverines with the public backing Michigan at a 60% or greater clip.
Our play is on Michigan -6.5.
