Favorites have dominated the NCAA Tournament, and history says Florida should come out on top tonight as championship game favorites are 41-13 in this spot over the past 55 years.

But there are some other title game trends to keep an eye on that support Houston.

BetOnline.ag has compiled all of those, as well as some wagering splits from its customers, which you can find below.

Preseason Parity

Florida's preseason odds of 30/1 or higher (actually were 60/1) puts them in dubious company. Since 2009, there have been 12 teams with 30/1 or higher preseason odds that ended up as a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Only three of those 12 advanced to the Final Four and none of them won the title.

Houston had 10/1 preseason odds.

Comeback Cougs

In the past 25 seasons, there have been 7,859 occasions where a team was down by 5 or more points at halftime in at least five games within a single season.

Only one of those 7,859 has come back to win every single one of those games...the 2025 Houston Cougars.

This season, when the Cougars have been down at halftime they've gone 7-1.

Home Sweet Home?

Houston is the ninth team over the past 60 years to play a Final Four game in its home state.

Eight of the nine previous teams won their Final Four matchup, but the last team to win it all was UCLA in 1975.

Duke Letdown

NCAA Tournament teams that defeated Duke in the previous round are just 3-11 overall during the past 16 years.

Favorites Prevail

The Top 2 title favorites entering the Final Four (Duke, Florida in 2025) have cut down the nets in 19 of the past 20 NCAA Tournaments (2014 UConn was outlier).

Dominating Defense

Houston is 33-0 when holding opponents to 70 points or fewer. Florida's team total is set at exactly 70 points.
