Colorado vs. Texas Tech

Opening Line - The line opened at Colorado -2.

Line Trend  - This one has moved from -3 to -4.

Sagarin – Sagarin gives us a number of Colorado -1.11.  The overlay here bodes well for the dog (Texas Tech).

Action Trend – Action was relatively balanced.

Comparables

  • FAU -3 to -5.5 Ohio (home dog wins outright) FAU 2.95 On the Money to a 2.5 overlay - Home underdog covers.
  • Clemson -3.5 to -4.5 to -3.5 Notre Dame (home dog ND covers and wins) Clem 1.18 Overlay of 2.5 to 3.5 - Home underdog covers.

Winners and Whiners had this to say about the Colorado vs. Texas Tech game:

"Despite the huge win last week, the Red Raiders have been painfully inconsistent this season, particularly on the defensive end. Overall, they are ranked just 103rd in scoring defense this season and have allowed as much as 59 points to a mediocre team like Baylor. They now have to come up against a Colorado team that is 32nd in the nation in scoring offense. The Buffs have also shown the ability to run the ball in recent weeks and that will only add to QB Sanders' ability to get time in the pocket by keeping the defense honest with runs. Colorado can feel confident that they'll be able to run against the Red Raiders, ranked 95th in the nation against the run. The real story will be through the air. Sanders and the Buffs are 8th in the country in passing and face the 124th-ranked Red Raiders pass defense. On the other side of the ball, the Buffs can slow the Red Raiders with the 30th-ranked scoring defense and 5th-best red zone defense. The Buffaloes are very much alive in the Big 12 race and will be too much for the inconsistent Red Raiders on Saturday."

Virginia vs. Pittsburgh

Opening Line - The line opened at Pittsburgh -8 some books.

Line Trend  - This one has moved from -7.5 to -7.

Sagarin – Sagarin gives us a number of Pittsburgh -12.64, indicating a fairly significant underlay.

Action Trend – Pittsburgh was seeing better than 70% of the action with both the tickets and cash.

Comparables

  • Missouri  +8 to +7.5 (+7 for a brief time near closing) Kansas (favorite Kansas wins big) 13.69 Underlay 5.5 to 6 points.  Home favorite covers.
  • Oklahoma State +7.5 to +7 Oklahoma State (home favorite Oklahoma State covers and wins big) Oklahoma 5.48 Underlay 1.5 to 2 points - Home favorite covers.

Winners and Whiners offered this:

"Virginia vs. Pittsburgh prediction: Panthers to cover the spread in Saturday's ACC football clash.

"I anticipate Pittsburgh getting back to its winning ways on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium, where it has covered the spread in five of its last six games (+3.90 units/59% ROI). The Panthers still have plenty left to play for with Louisville and Clemson ahead, while the Cavaliers are coming off a tough loss and have dropped three straight contests.

"The Panthers' offense is elite, and we saw what their defense is capable of against Syracuse, forcing five turnovers and scoring two defensive touchdowns. Pitt takes care of the football, and Holstein should be able to move the chains against a Cavaliers secondary that's among the worst in the power conferences. UVA also ranks just inside the top 100 in opponent third down and red zone scoring conversation percentage.

"Virginia got off to a great start, but I think it showed its true colors versus North Carolina. Pittsburgh won't overlook the Cavs after last week's humbling loss, as the opportunity will motivate the Panthers to get back on track with the Cardinals and Tigers looming on the schedule. Bet on Pitt to win and cover comfortably on Saturday at home."

BYU vs. Utah

Opening Line - The line opened at BYU -4.5

Line Trend  - This one has moved from -5 to as low as -2.5.  The 5 and 2.5 only made brief appearances.

Sagarin – Sagarin gives us a number of BYU 2.16.  There is mostly an overlay here though that 2.5 got closer to accurate.

Action Trend – Action was balanced.

Comparables

  • Kansas State -5.5 to -3.5 Colorado (Kansas State 2.78 Overlay to On The Money) - Home underdog covers.
  • Penn State -5.5 to -3.5 USC (Penn State 1.29 Overlay) - Home underdog covers.
  • Wake Forest -4.5 to -3 Louisville (home dog Louisville covers and wins big) Wake 2.8 On the Money to Overlay 1.5
