The inaugural college football 12-Team Playoff had some interesting results with the eighth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes beating the seventh-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish to win last season's CFP Championship.

Last season, the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag opened their playoff odds with 33 teams. This year, they’ve opened them with all 134 FBS teams.

Here are some notes from last year’s opening odds:

  •     The teams with the five best odds all made the playoff: Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Texas and Clemson.
  •     The teams with the sixth to 12th best odds did not make the playoff: FSU, K-State, Michigan, Utah, Miami, Ole Miss and Arizona.
  •     Notre Dame was 5/2 (+250) to make the playoff, which equated to 28.57%.
  •     These playoff teams did not have opening odds: ASU, Boise State, Indiana and SMU.

There are three columns for the spreadsheet below:

  •     Fractional odds
  •     Moneyline odds
  •     % chance according to the odds to make the playoff
