Hugh Freeze Fired Odds - Payout $200 on a $100 Bet If He's Next to Go
Auburn's Hugh Freeze is favored to be the next college football head coach fired, with Billy Napier of Florida a half point longer among the odds.
Texas A&M’s offense struggled at times, but the defense was solid all day, holding the Tigers to 176 yards and 0 of 12 on third-down attempts this past weekend.
“Offensively, that was unacceptable,” Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said. “Our defense played their tails off and well enough to win the game.”
Auburn (3-2, 0-2) entered the game ranked fifth in the nation by allowing just 58.2 yards rushing a game. But the Aggies piled up 145 yards rushing by halftime and finished with 207 yards rushing led by Moss averaging 6.6 yards a carry.
The Tigers fell to 14-16 in 30 games with Freeze leading the program. Auburn also fell to 5-13 in SEC games under Freeze with the loss to the Aggies.
The Tigers have not posted a winning season since 2020.
According to a copy of Freeze's contract, obtained by the USA TODAY Network, Freeze's buyout would be roughly $16.25 million if he were fired without cause as of Sunday, Sept. 28. The university would owe him 75% of the remaining payments of his contract, set to run through Jan. 31, 2029.
