Minnesota comes into this Thursday August 29 game against North Carolina as a -2.5 home favorite.

The Tar Heels are favored to win 8 regular season games in 2024 while Minnesota is favored to win 6.

Max Johnson has transferred over from Texas A&M to UNC where he is expected to share quarterback duties with current Tar Heels backup Connor Harrell.

Johnson appeared in 12 games over two seasons for the Aggies, but never started a full season during his time in College Station.

Max Brosmer passed for more than 3,000 yards in the last two seasons while combining for 56 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions playing for New Hampshire and will start as QB for the Golden Gophers this year.

Whereas UNC lost many of its critical offensive pieces from last season, Minnesota returns key players on defense.

Two of the better handicappers at the G911 Sports Hub are on Minnesota early.

Our Line Analysis

We get a line of Minnesota -1.5.  The actual line is -2.5, indicative of a small overlay.

Favorites in the -1.5 to -2.5 range where there is an overlay have tended not to fare very well.  Something to keep in mind prior to placing that bet on the Golden Gophers.
