Few people should be surprised that FIFA World Cup 2010 traffic is the driving force behind Gambling911.com's successful readership the past weekend, but the highly publicized war of words between poker pros Doyle Brunson and Annette Obrestad has been getting significant readership as well.

The lead up to USA vs. England Saturday put quite a strain on our servers around Noon forcing the Gambling911 Geek Squad to pull the plug on a few popular features.  Nigeria vs. Argentina also drew some significant interest to the Gambling911.com website.

Traffic related to the NBA Finals was quite good early on Sunday and again later in the day as game time approached.

As usual, Pawn Stars continued to trend well throughout and by Monday morning, news related to Joran van der Sloot (especially with reports that he murdered Stephany Flores while playing online poker), was once again explosive.

Monday evening's trending was heavy for Cristiano Ronaldo, Prisons in Peru and Big 12 Football, where we are prominently featured on Google.  The Annette Obrestad/Doyle Brunson controversy was still on fire when it came to most popular articles.

Traffic has been up around 100 percent over last year at this time.  60 percent of the traffic originated from the US, 17 percent from the United Kingdom and 7 percent from Canada on Saturday.  By Sunday, traffic coming from the US had jumped up to 63 percent.

Google, Google UK, Twitter, Bing, Google Australia, Google Canada and now Facebook were feeding much of the traffic.
