More YouTube Influencers Caught in Crosshairs of Authorities for Promoting Gambling Apps
National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency taking further action against YouTubers promoting online gambling apps in Pakistan while South Korean authorities have also arrested an influencer whose identity is yet to be disclosed alleged to have been tied to a massive horse betting scheme.
National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency taking further action against YouTubers promoting online gambling apps has registered three more cases against media influencers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to NCCIA officials, three cases have been registered against prominent social media influencers Iqra Kanwal alias Sisterology, Nadeem Mubarak alias Naniwala and Muhammad Hasnain Shah.
The investigation agency summoned the YouTubers thrice to know their stand, however, they deliberately avoided joining the investigation.
The arrests in Pakistan come just days after famed YouTuber Ducky Bhai was denied bail for the promotion of gambling apps in that country.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo dismissed a plea on Monday and said the YouTuber’s alleged actions had a significant impact on society, particularly on young audiences. Bhai has been behind bars for over a month now.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said it arrested 11 people they allege operated a private horse racing site using real-time horse racing videos from the Korean Horse Association, on charges of violating the Korean Horse Association Act (opening gambling).
Between December 2022 and November 2024, they are suspected of receiving 1.4 billion won worth of plating from gambling members by running a private horse racing site using real-time horse racing videos from the Korea Racing Association.
In addition to those who operated gambling sites or participated in fund charging and exchanging, a large number of gambling actors were also caught by the police.
The police arrested 140 gambling actors who used the gambling sites on gambling charges, worth more than 5 million won. A YouTuber who participated in the gambling was also included. The YouTuber was found to have spent 214 million won on 116 occasions.
This news comes two weeks after a popular YouTuber in that nation committed suicide following an epic gambling binge online.
South Korean YouTube star Na Dong-hyun, also known as @BuzzBean11, had nearly 1.5 million subscribers on his account. The 46-year-old was found dead after participated in a 5-hour gaming livestream on September 8.
