Reddit: Movement Might be the First Chain That Actually Gets Gaming

A Redditor by the name of OstrichRealistic5033 is bullish on Movement.

For all you computer and crypto blockchain geeks out there, the Movement blockchain refers to a modern Layer 1 blockchain designed to be highly scalable, developer-friendly, and compatible with both Ethereum and the Move programming language.

OstrichRealistic5033 explains why they believe it's the best for blockchain gambling.

Since the market is down, I started to explore other things that I love to keep me busy and get my mind off the ongoing trade wars. Gaming is one of the things I love doing and Movement is one of the few chains that seems to understand what gamers actually want. Now, I haven’t played any games on it yet (still early days), but the tech behind it is definitely catching my eye.

Here’s what stood out to me as someone who plays a lot and likes digging into the tech side of things:

Speed – Movement handles a ton of transactions per second, and they use something called post-confirmations that help smooth out gameplay. No more waiting for transactions to confirm while you’re in the middle of a match.

Fees – This one’s big. You can actually buy small in-game items without paying more in gas than the item’s worth. Finally.

Custom rollups – Devs can tweak the blockchain setup to suit their game’s needs. So whether it’s unique combat mechanics or complex economies, Movement gives them the flexibility they need.

Scales well – This is built for big, persistent games. Think of MMO-style environments or large-scale RTS games with tons of players interacting at once. It feels like they’re thinking long-term.

I’ve checked out their explorer tool, and it’s kinda cool to see what’s happening in the ecosystem. But I haven’t actually played any games there yet. Just tracking the tech and hoping something fun gets built on it.

Has anyone here tried a game on Movement yet? Or messing around with the platform? I'm curious to hear from anyone who’s got more hands-on experience.

Last month, Donovan Choy of Blockworks.co wrote of how Movement is winning the pre-launch marketing game.

In addition to raising lots of money, Movement is cozying up to DC politicians, primarily those in charge.

Movement co-founder Rushi Manche is publicly posting pictures with Donald Trump Jr. and crypto czar David Sacks, and has somehow sold more than two million MOVE to the Trump-affiliated World Liberty Financial (WLFI) project since January, which was valued at ~$1.9 million at the time.

All without even a live mainnet.

Choy also notes that Movement is the third blockchain project, after Aptos and Sui, to leverage the Move Virtual Machine from Meta’s deceased Diem project as its execution environment.

Now that The Masters is over we're dealing with what is by most accounts a rather slow uneventful Monday.  This, however, is the silence before the storm as the NFL Draft, NBA and NHL Playoffs, the Kentucky Derby and the Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull fight are just around the corner.
