Tigers Have Rough Recent History in Cleveland

(May 8, 2023) - The Tigers are getting hot as they are winners of five of their last six games and inching towards the .500 mark (two games down).  But the Tigers are just 16-47 in the last 63 meetings in Cleveland.  That's a 25% success rate.   Cleveland opened as a big -195 favorite in Monday's game.

Cleveland Guardians career statistics vs. Michael Lorenzen are .273.  Josh Bell is not on his A Game of late.  He's .225 but has hit two homers off of Lorenzen who is .391 against him.

Detroit Tigers career statistics vs. Shane Bieber are just .216 against him (19 for 88 at bats). Riley Greene is 3 for 6 against him.

Cleveland Guardians career statistics vs. Eduardo Rodriguez with his 1.81 ERA are .246.  Jose Ramirez (.313) is 5 for 16 against him with two homers.

Consensus MLB Pick for May 4 is the Detroit Tigers

(May 4, 2023) - Consensus handicappers were all over the Detroit Tigers +163 hosting the New York Mets Thursday.

The line has mostly shifted between +150 and +160 and we don't see much of a deviation before game time 1:10 pm ET.

Detroit is not a horrible team.  They've won half of their last ten (5-4 their last nine).  Compare that to the Mets who have won just three games over this span. They've also lost the last two in this series this week.

The Mets are 1-5 in their last 6 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game and 1-5 in their last 6 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.

Then there was the Eduardo Rodriguez factor.  Update:  This one won bigger for the cappers.
