Elon Musk, Time's 2021 Person of the Year, pays $600 for every $100 bet if he's a repeat.  Musk recently purchased the social media platform Twitter and seems to make news headlines at least once a week.

The magazine says it gives the title to the person who had the greatest influence for the past year, and certainly Musk meets that criteria.  Musk also oversees Starlink, a satellite internet constellation operated by his American aerospace company SpaceX.

A little surprising that Musk is not the favorite.  He's actually listed third with Sam Altman favored and last year's recipient, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, having the second shortest odds.

The annual accolade, which will be announced the first week of December by the iconic American news magazine, was first awarded in 1927.

Cyber-gaming site BetOnline.ag have positioned Zelenskyy with 3/1 odds, which is twice better than the next-closest candidate (Musk).

Current U.S. President Joe Biden comes in with 6-1 odds.

Shah Rukh Khan, who won the TIME readers' vote, has 16/1 odds.

Altman is an American entrepreneur and investor, who has been the CEO of OpenAI since 2019 (being briefly fired and then reinstated in November 2023).

Interestingly it's not always an individual named "Person of the Year".  Gambling911.com believes AI could be selected as a idea, or object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year" can replace a human, just like AI can replace a human.   Few subjects were discussed more in 2023 than Artificial Intelligence.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump continued to make news in 2023 courtesy of multiple indictments.  Trump pays $1200 for every $100 bet.
