2010 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Betting Odds
2010 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest betting odds had Joey Chestnut as the -300 favorite and there might actually be some value there. One would have to wager $30 to win $10 at BetUS.com (the $30 bet is refunded should Chestnut win). Essentially you profit $10 for every $30 bet.
Joseph Christian "Jaws" Chestnut has mastered this competition to the point where he has become the Tiger Woods of competitive eating. He is currently ranked number one in the world by the International Federation of Competitive Eating.
On July 4, 2007, Chestnut won the 92nd Annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, beating six-time defending champion Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi by consuming 66 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes, which set a new world record.
Chestnut has won the last three Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contests.
Six-time champion Takeru Kobayashi (who would pay out $15 for every $10 bet with a win) so far is refusing to take part in the competition.
"I really want to compete in the event," Kobayashi said this week, "but I cannot agree to the conditions."
The International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) has reportedly asked all entrants to sign a contract that will keep them from participating in eating contests outside the league.
Oddsmakers continued to take bets on Kobayashi, assuming he will still enter in the final hours.
