2011 Oscar Odds for Best Actor: No Worth for Colin Firth
When it comes to the 2011 Oscar odds for Best Actor and wagering on Colin Firth to win for The King’s Speech, Gambling911.com says “forgetaboutit”.
It’s not that he won’t win…he will. Therein lies the problem as Colin Firth is the biggest “lock” in Oscar betting history since online gambling sites started offering odds on the event.
SBG Global had Firth listed at -10000 odds, which essentially makes it impossible to place a wager on the star.
Don’t fret though. SBG Global was offering more reasonable odds in some of the other Oscars categories, including Best Picture, which is somewhat competitive despite the steep price on The King’s Speech. Note that The Social Network had originally been made the favorite.
2011 Oscar odds for Best Picture at SBG Global were as follows:

The Oscars are typically the most wagered on non-sporting event in any given year outside of US Presidential elections. The awards ceremony also routinely ranks as the third most bet on single day event in terms of overall volume, with the average wager around $10.
