2011 Oscars Betting: Bookmaker Releases More Props
North America’s oldest established online gambling website, Bookmaker.com, has released many additional 2011 Oscars betting options.
“The selection is among the best out there,” notes Payton O’Brien of Gambling911.com. “There are odds on a number of more obscure categories where the prices are not as steep.”
One has to look no further than the “Best Actor” category where Colin Firth is a ridiculous -3000 favorite. That is among the biggest “locks” ever offered but the risk vs. reward ratio will make for a rather meager win, especially with the maximum bet policy for the Oscars found at most gambling sites (though Bookmaker.com appears to be allowing larger bet sizes). One has to wager $300 to win $10 on a Firth Oscar. We won’t even look at the other nominees here.
The other 2011 Oscars betting options available at Bookmaker.com that might not necessarily be offered at other competing online gambling sites included:
(more odds after the banner. Always use Bonus Code GAMBLING911)
Prominent color of Natalie Portman’s dress:
BLACK+300 (pays $30 for every $10 bet)
WHITE+300
BLUE+400
CREAM/BEIGE+450 (pays $45 for every $10 bet)
PINK+450
RED+500
ANY OTHER COLOR+400
TV rating for the 2011 Oscars:
OVER 26.5 NIELSEN RATING-105
LESS THAN 26.5 NIELSEN RATING-135
There were also OVER/UNDER odds on the number of director, actors and/or actresses that will cry with “none” being the -150 favorite. An actor, actress and director crying (all three) would pay out a whopping $150 for every $10 bet.
OVER/UNDER betting on number of Oscars won by various films was also available, with The King’s Speech a -145 favorite to win 5 or more Oscars.
Some more obscure 2011 Oscar betting optionswith improved payout odds appear below: (how to read these odds: -150 means you would have to bet $15 to win $10 with the original $15 bet refunded plus the winnings should the wager be a winner. +150 means you would bet $10 to win $15. +500 means that a $10 bet pays out $50. +1000 means that a $10 bet would pay out $100).
