2012 Academy Awards Odds: Look to the More Obscure for Value
When it comes to the 2012 Academy Awards betting odds, WagerWeb.com has one of the most complete wagering menus available. Here, Gambling911.com takes a look at some of the more obscure odds including “Best Makeup” and “Best Sound Effects”. You’ll notice quite a few of these categories feature competitive pricing.
Best Achievement in Art Direction Academy Awards odds had “Hugo” as the -500 favorite, but this is hardly a ‘lock’. Both “The Artist” at 6/1 odds and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at 8/1 odds offer terrific value.
Best Achievement in Cinematography is another competitive category with the favorite – “The Tree of Life” – listed at -300. “The Artist” would pay $20 for every $10 bet.
Best Achievement in Costume Design is any nominees to win. The technical favorite is “Hugo” at near even odds.
Best Achievement in Film Editing had “The Artist” at -185 and all other nominees up for grabs with solid value. But even “Hugo” was a decent value compared to some of the more prominent categories like Best Supporting Actor where Christopher Plummer was around a -4000 favorite at some online gambling sites.
The Best Makeup payout odds are all better than even.
Best Achievement in Sound Editing, Mixing and Visual Effects are each offered at a decent price with nominal risk for the favorites.
