Carrie Stroup advised Gambling911.com that Sportsbook.com has removed its odds on the 2012 Emmy Awards, at least temporarily.  The reason:  Suspicious betting activity.

“They opened the Primetime Emmys Thursday,” Stroup reports.  “Friday morning, They noticed irregular betting activity on specific Emmy props so they closed (betting) shortly afterwards.”

Those props included the following:

Breaking Bad “Outstanding Drama”

Brian Cranston “Lead Actor Drama”

Claire Danes “Lead Actress Drama”

Modern Family ‘Outstanding Comedy’

Louis CK  “Lead Actor Comedy”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus “Lead Actress Comedy”

It is not the first time online gambling companies have had to shut down wagering on events where “inside information” appeared to be utilized.

Online sites offering bets on the CBS reality series “Survivor” were shut off after similar patterns were realized.  Ultimately the two contestants receiving the most bets ended up in the finale.  “Survivor” and similar programs are often pretaped in advance while only the final is broadcast live.

Likewise, Gambling911.com was notified that Annie Duke and Joan Rivers would be making the final of Celebrity Apprentice prior to the 2009 season starting.  Bookmakers promptly pulled their odds.
