Academy Awards 2010 Betting on Fire Sunday Morning
While there has been plenty of interest in the Academy Awards 2010 betting heading into Sunday, the real activity began in earnest Sunday morning.
"It's going to be a huge day for us here at Gambling911.com," predicts Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.
The Oscars is widely considered the third most wagered on single day event after the Kentucky Derby and Super Bowl.
"Heavy traffic for Academy Awards 2010 betting related search was already being recorded by mid morning Sunday, around the same time that the Super Bowl searches began filtering in more consistently," observed O'Brien, noting that the Oscars begins a few hours after the Super Bowl, providing more time for betting on the event.
Ms. O'Brien expects last year's Academy Awards betting related traffic numbers to be shattered this year.
"We witnessed this with the Super Bowl and believe there will be yet another increase in people betting on the Oscars."
Academy Awards 2010 betting was only available online as Las Vegas does not allow for this type of entertainment wagering.
Online gambling websites like betED.com were offering odds on most major Oscars categories.
