When it comes to Academy Awards 2010 odds, there are some categories that are less competitive and, as such, more pricey.
Take for example, Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz as the huge -3500 odds favorite at BetUS.com. OUCH! Yes, you would have to bet $350 just to win $10 (the $350 would almost certainly be refunded since he is considered a "lock").
Some of the best value this year comes with the Best Picture category. The Hurt Locker was now the -150 favorite but Avatar would actually pay out $11 for every $10 bet at BetUS.com.
Following the announced Oscar nominations, Sandra Bullock was almost treated like a "lock" but now her Academy Awards 2010 odds have been slashed down to -160 and it is Oscars darling Meryl Streep who is gaining steam. Best Sound Editing had Avatar as the -250 favorite at BetUS.com while any other movie would pay out $17 for every $10 bet. The oddsmakers are not entirely convinced that Avatar will walk away with this Oscar.
