American Idol Recap: A Real Snoozefest
Is it us or is this season's crop of American Idol contestants some of the biggest letdowns?
This American Idol recap can be summed up sorta like this: "Nobody was really worth writing about except for Adam Lambert". I mean, seriously, our own Jenny Woo once performed "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on the infamous Cindy Margolis Show a few years back, and she put more effort into THAT than most of these Idol wannabes did this week. Simon (Cowell) certainly could have been a whole lot crueler.
Oddsmakers at Sportsinteraction.com may have gotten it right though when they made Adam Lambert one of the favorites (he had odds of 5/1 or +500 for a payout potential of $500 on every $100 bet or $50 for every $10 bet).
Lambert sang his mother's favorite song, "Satisfaction" from the Rolling Stones and he managed to wake us all up in the waning minutes.
All the judges agreed, accept for Simon Cowell, who was on the fence. He heard things we at Gambling911.com did not apparently.
Paula: I don't even have words to express how much that I think that I'm not even watching an American Idol competition. I'm watching an Adam Lambert concert. ... You're in a league of your own. You're leaving some people in the rear-view mirror.
Simon: I am really finding this one difficult. There were parts I thought were excruciatingly bad, and parts I thought were brilliant. Parts, particularly in the beginning, I thought were terrible. This is going to be one of those love it or hate it things.
Randy: I loved it. I think you're one of the most current contestants we've ever had. Steven Tyler meets Fall Out Boy meets Robert Pattinson from "Twilight."
Kara: Your vocal technique and ability is outrageous. That you can go so low or so high ... but who has a range like that?
