"The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert, a frequent critic of U.S. President Donald Trump, let loose on his U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr Wednesday night following reports this week that there will be $500 million in vaccine research funding slashed.

Colbert joked he was about to deliver a "measured, nonpartisan response" -- then unloading on RFK Jr. with "F*** you, you 'roid-addled nepo-carnie."

He then flipped the bird at the camera, presumably directed towards RFK Jr.

Manifold Markets is one of the few prediction markets offering odds on whether Colbert lasts until the scheduled last airing of "The Late Show" in May 2026. 31 percent believe Colbert won't make it until May 2026.

CBS parent company Paramount new CEO is David Ellison. His Skydance finally completed its $8 billion merger with Paramount Global last week.

Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Ron Wyden began probing last month whether Skydance was involved in discussions to cancel "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert".

Ellison's relationship with Trump appears to be complex and has evolved over time.

Ellison describes himself as a "socially liberal" person and donated to Joe Biden's 2024 re-election campaign but his relationship with the current president appears to be amicable.

Trump has also stated that Ellison will "do a great job" leading the combined Skydance-Paramount Global entity.

Other Paramount network shows have taken on Trump during the acquisition process.

The company recently reached a settlement agreement with a payment of $16 million from Paramount to Trump's future presidential library after Trump alleged CBS news magazine "60 Minutes" deceptively edited Harris's interview to portray her more favorably and influence the 2024 election.

More recently, Comedy Central's "South Park" aired an episode that depicted the U.S. president in a not-so-flattering light, to say the least. They even depicted Trump in bed with Satan.
