What the Hell is Going on?

Since mid-November 2024, reports have emerged of large, unidentified drones appearing during nighttime hours across multiple counties in New Jersey, as well as parts of New York, eastern Pennsylvania, and Maryland. These alleged sightings have sparked confusion among residents and prompted concerns from local, state, and federal authorities. The situation remains unresolved, with investigations led by agencies such as the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the New Jersey State Police.

The U.S. federal government has attributed many of these sightings to misidentifications of lawful manned aircraft. The DHS stated that no evidence has been found to confirm drone sightings in restricted airspace, while the Department of Defense did confirm the presence of drones in the airspace over military bases. Commentators have offered various explanations, suggesting that the sightings could be attributed to misidentified aircraft and widespread confirmation bias, government activities (foreign or domestic), or commercial operations.  - Source: Wikipedia

Trump Says Shoot Them Down

There are some good little side bet potentials as the drones have flown near President-Elect Donald Trump's Bedminster, New Jersey estate.

Of course one good prop will be whether Trump officially orders the drones be shot down once he assumes office.

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last week. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

Easier said than done as this could result in disaster should one fall upon a home, or homes, in the densely populated Garden State.

New Jersey's No Stranger to Alien Invasion Hysteria

It's ironic that these drone sightings are mostly taking place over New Jersey.

In Orson Welles' 1938 radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds, the fictional Martian invasion of Earth began in Grovers Mill, New Jersey.

Some listeners heard only a portion of the broadcast and, in the tension and anxiety prior to World War II, mistook it for a genuine news broadcast, resulting in widespread panic.
