BP Coffee Spill

In the wake of the worst environmental disaster in US history, comedy can still provide healing power, especially when BP (British Petroleum) is the brunt of all jokes.

The comedy we speak of is aimed at the ineptness of the big bad oil company, which seems incapable of stopping a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

One such parody, found on Twitter, is a la BP Global PR (no actual association with the company, though one might think otherwise at first glance of the updated Tweets).  British Petroleum has reportedly asked Twitter to shut down the account.  Twitter apparently responded by telling BP to fix the leak first.

Entries include such things as:

"We pray for a forgetful nation and more money every day!"

"Our credit rating has been downgraded to BBB. We'll assume that means "Big Bountiful Bonuses."

"We're not blocking all reporters from the gulf - just the ones who aren't going to say nice things about us."

"If you want to help clean up. Drive your cars fast and often. Let's melt those glaciers and dilute this mess!"

"Opening more wells in the Gulf! We're drilling for ALL the oil down there to ensure this never happens again."

And a Tweet entry immediately following President Barack Obama's Oval Office speech about the crisis Tuesday night:

"And now back to the Gilmore Girls"

Meanwhile, YouTube featured a hilarious parody on BP's executives efforts to clean up a coffee spill in the office, which essentially mocks the company's response to the Gulf oil spill.  That video, released on June 9, has received over 3 million views and counting.

For anyone who would like to bet on the head of BP CEO Tony Hayward, there are odds of 1/2 being offered up at BetUS.com that he gets canned.
