Outside of American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, the finale of Celebrity Apprentice 2 turned out to be a traffic phenomenon for Gambling911.com with over 100 searches per minute at some points.

There was betting on the show but it became a hit with Gambling911.com readers thanks to the appearance of poker pro Annie Duke (who is spokesperson for Gambling911 sponsor www.ultimatebet.com) and the fighting that ensued between her and Joan Rivers, both of whom made it to the finale.

"The franchise has held its own on Sunday night against tough competition and Celebrity Apprentice was renewed for a third season," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.

8.7 million people watched last week but traffic for the finale updates at the Gambling911.com website suggest that the series may have performed much better this week.

"The traffic is very similar to that of past American Idol finales," O'Brien said.  "It would not surprise us if Celebrity Apprentice manages to win at least part of its three hour time slot, specifically the last hour."

Annie Duke was ultimately fired Sunday night.  Joan Rivers was named the Celebrity 2 Apprentice.

Last year's winner, Piers Morgan, explained that Rivers had excelled in three of the five criteria laid out by Donald Trump.  Duke raised nearly four times the amount of money for her charity, however.
