Ireland’s largest bookmaker Paddy Power has offered odds of 5/1 that 2010 will feature a hurricane stronger than that which hit in 2005, Wilma.  At one point in the warm Atlantic basin, Wilma had become the most intense hurricane on record.  Though the storm caused heavy damage on land, it never hit at peak strength.

Paddy has gone out on a limb making 10 or more hurricanes to form in 2010 a favorite at 2/1 odds.

Hermine, Igor and Gaston are favored to become the strongest storms.

Paddy Power does not accept U.S. gamblers, and presumably those most affected by potential tropical storms.

Most of the North American-facing online bookmakers stopped taking bets on hurricanes after the 2006 season.
