It’s Official: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Divorcing… Gambling to Blame

Compulsive gambling has destroyed yet another marriage:  This time that of celebrity power couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

The two are splitting after 10 years of marriage but Gambling911.com had already reported the couple was toast earlier this month.

Both were said to be living separately with Garner infuriated over Affleck’s compulsive gambling.

The news became official on Tuesday.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple tells PEOPLE in a joint statement. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

The rumors of a possible breakup began nearly a year ago when it was reported that Affleck had been banned from playing blackjack at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas for being “too good” a player.
