James Gandolfini is Dead: Played Tony Soprano

In shocking news Wednesday evening, “Sopranos” star James Gandolfini has passed away.

Gandolfini apparently suffered a massive heart attach, according to reports.  Some reports, however, suggest the star could have suffered a stroke.

The “Sopranos” was a huge hit for HBO, focusing on a real life Mafia family. Gandolfini played the main role.

The New Jersey born actor was vacationing in Italy and was scheduled to attend an Italian film festival.

HBO confirmed the reports to CNN.

Gandolfini was about to turn 51.
