An unlikely suspect in the murder of Lucy Beale could end up paying some folks 80-1 odds.

UK bookmaker Paddy Power slashed those odds to 6-1 following a series of suspicious bets placed out of Ireland.  Other bookies, including Boyle Sports, and Ladbrokes, quickly followed suit.

Lucy Beale was killed as part of a plotline on the long running British soap opera EastEnders over a year ago.  The popular program is marking its 30-year anniversary with a big reveal Thursday night as to who killed Beale.  Billy Mitchell was not among the original suspects listed by the BBC.  He did not have an alibi.

So far 77 potential suspects exist according to media reports.
