BetUS.com republished its Miss Universe 2010 odds after removing them for nearly 48 hours over the weekend (see odds here)

One of the biggest changes is that Miss Ireland has become the 5/1 favorite.  She had previously been listed with the same odds as Miss USA (+750).  Miss Russia and Miss Mexico were the original co-favorites at 7/1 before the change with Ireland.

Despite the traditionally significant betting action on this event, Miss Universe 2010 odds at BetUS.com have not changed at all outside of Miss Ireland.

“We could potentially see some movement in the odds the hours leading up to the competition,” points out Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.

Among the usual single digit odds nations, Venezuela came in with +750 odds.  That country has more beauty pageant winners than any other in the world.

Miss Columbia also had +750 odds.

Miss France came in at +900.

Miss Philippines was also listed at +900.

Miss Australia was at +1200 odds.

Miss Brazil and Miss Trinidad & Tobago had +1500 odds, respectively.

Usually listed with single digit odds, Miss Puerto Rico came into the 2010 competition with longer odds of winning at +1600.

Miss Denmark and Miss Jamaica were each at +1800 odds for a payout potential of US$180 on every US$10 bet.

Miss Czech Republic and Miss Haiti were at +1800 odds as well.

Miss Canada was at +2000 odds for a payout potential of US$200 on every US$10 bet.

It will be interesting to see if Miss Haiti gets a “sympathy boost” following last January’s devastating earthquake that all but destroyed that Caribbean nation.

A large percentage of Gambling911.com readers come from Great Britain and their representative was a long shot at 65/1 odds.

The Miss Universe 2010 pageant airs Monday night live (check your local listings).
