NetFlix has announced the reuniting of film director Marin Scorsese and Robert De Niro for the upcoming gangster film “The Irishman”.

From Penn Live:

The Irishman" is an adaptation of the book "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Charles Brandt, about the life of mob hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. Considering that Scorsese and De Niro are well known for movies such as "Goodfellas" and "Casino," it seems like a natural fit.

Production on "The Irishman" is expected to start later this year. Scorsese's previous film, 2016's "Silence," was a financial disappointment despite critical acclaim, earning less than $15 globally after a $40 million production budget.
