Odds Released on Who Will Be The Next James Bond: First Black Bond Possible
British bookmaker William Hill has released odds on who will play the next James Bond in the popular film franchise. Damien Lewis had his odds slashed Monday from 25-1 to 3-1.
“This is an unprecedented gamble, as for no apparent reason we have seen bets of up to £200 on Damian Lewis being named as the next Bond. This might well be significant,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
“At Betfair, Lewis’s odds have gone from 50/1 to 4/1. A spokesman said: “Damian Lewis hadn’t seen any interest in the betting until this weekend, but an absolute landslide in bets has forced us to cut the odds.
And Paddy Power cut the odds from 20/1 to 5/2, saying: “As the spectre of Daniel Craig disappears into the distance, it looks as though Lewis will be the next man with the golden gun.”
Based on this trending, the odds of a Black James Bond appear to be diminishing.
Idris Elba, best known perhaps for his role of “Stringer” Bell on the HBO series “The Wire” had odds of 9/4, slightly better than Lewis’s price.
