Both categories offered somewhat competitive odds, at least by Oscars standards with Chris Terrio the slightly better than EVEN-odds favourite to win for “Argo” in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

It is Tony Kushner who is favoured at -600, however, for “Lincoln”.   You would have to bet $60 to win $10 (with the $60 refunded should Kushner win).  Since this is the closest thing to a “lock” without being taken completely to the cleaners, there is actually some value.

Mark Boal for “Zero Dark Thirty” had odds of -400 for Best Original Screenplay while Quentin Tarantino had the next shortest odds at +140.
